The place where everyone knows your name. This is the pub you always wanted to own. At least I do. The beer is beer and the food is an excellent representation of British cuisine, including Curry in a Bag. Love this place.

Super grungy English dive bar. Dim lights, wallpaper, bookshelves, and maps on the walls. Awesome selection of beer on tap. They have your classic greasy bar food: burgers and deep fried finger foods, but people seem to come for their fish & chips, pot pie, and mudd pie. No TVs so it's a bit more intimate, but it does get pretty loud in here especially on Monday night trivia.
Trivia: Every Monday 8pm, come early to get seats. Only up to 3 people per team, 20 questions in 20 minutes. Very difficult, I think. But super fun and the host Matt is always sarcastically entertaining. -

Trials is kind of dive-y, but I mean that in a good way in this case! It's small, it's dimly lit, it doesn't seem like much of the furniture matches, but it's just a fun bar to hang out at! I love that they have board games to play while you hang out with friends, and everyone who goes there seems so friendly that we've actually picked up a new friend on occasion who saw what we were playing and wanted to join in. The food is ok at best, but no one is really coming here for a quality meal - you come here because it's juuuuust far enough from San Pedro and the hubbub of the downtown bar scene that it won't be too crazy crowded, but close enough in case you feel like going somewhere else later in the night. Definitely always have a good time when I come to Trials!

Came here last night and although I think I snuck in here before I was even 21, I count this as my first time here.
There were quiet a few taps, which of course is my jam, and I went with the Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA which they were super promoting.. Im glad they were, I love that beer. My friend had Guinness, which seems to be quiet the business at this business. Our beers were served in imperial pint glasses, which have a few more oz than your average American pint. I know that 2 pints are usually my limit, so when I was half way thru the 2nd beer, I realized I needed to chill a litlte bit. So watch for that if you normally monitor your intake.
The bartenders were 2 men, although I wasn't given their names (idk, some secretive Speakeasy bs, lol), one was referred to as the "Sticker Guy".. and the other was "Not from Santa Clara". I had an awesome time chopping it up with them, they were definitely witty and kept me on my toes.
Loved this place.. hope to come back again soon. -

Great local pub! I live in Naglee Park and just found this gem. My friends invited me here for drinks and the bartenders are great. I drink vodka, soda, lime and it was a great pour. My friends had beer and they also enjoyed. Service was quick and friendly. Bar was clean, bathrooms clean. They also have food here I love the chicken wings but wish they had celery.. I also heard the burgers are great;). There is plenty of parking on street or lot, grab uber/lyft which drop you right at the door on 1st st. Friday evening I grabbed a spot at a table..when leaving around 1030 there started to be a crowd.
